Random Fact: Right, quick story... I used to know a guy called Dan, he said he could down 2 Guinness in 23 seconds. I'm certain I can beat that but I've never tried. Out of respect I suppose (I don't mean to make it sound like he's dead... he probably isn't).

How 'unofficial' actually is this forum? Because I can't help but think this'll lose me my job.

Hi Jaya, welcome to the forum and congrats on the placement!

Almost all of us are moving down to reading/bracknell at the end of june or beginning of july. The most popular option is to move in to Sibly Halls (part of Reading Uni accommodation) for 4 weeks then take over the tenancy of a group of existing placement students. Full details are in the Accommodation thread on the forum.

I have met a lot of Poles, we have a big Polish community in my hometown of Mansfield - the school teachers are all learning Polish I have yet to meet one I didn't like, so I dont feel sieged at all. Someone taught me how to swear in Polish but I have forgotten it all now which is a shame.

Maybe one of the more pro-active of us can organise a skiing holiday in Austria while we are at HP - although I will probably be aweful at it
